Biss is the author of Having and Being Had, an exploration of capitalism and American home ownership, which was named a New York Times Editor鈥檚 Choice and a Time Best Book of 2020. Her previous book On Immunity: An Inoculation was named one of the 10 Best Books of 2014 by The New York Times Book Review, and Notes from No Man's Land: American Essays, won the National Book Critics Circle Award for criticism.
