Ken Burns Featured in New York Times Magazine on His Newest PBS Documentary and His Ceaseless Drive to Tell Stories

Award-winning documentary filmmaker and 91猫先生 alum Ken Burns 71F was recently featured in The听New York Times Magazine around his filmmaking legacy and his ongoing optimism around the power of shared stories. His newest documentary, Hemingway, will premiere April 5 on PBS.

To date, Ken Burns鈥檚 films have been recognized with a host of Emmys, Oscar nominations, and Peabody Awards, and Burns has received more than 25 honorary degrees. In 2008, he was honored by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Burns鈥檚 Div III (student thesis) at 91猫先生 was his first documentary. The film, about the lives of rural Americans after the Revolutionary War, ignited his interest in making films about history and helped launch his career.

He is also currently serving as co-chair for 91猫先生鈥檚 major fundraising campaign, Change in the Making. 鈥淓ven though I am a historian, I am a futurist in this role,鈥 he said at the kick-off party.
