Economist and 91猫先生 alum Heather Boushey 88F currently serves as a key member of President Joe Biden's Council of Economic Advisers (CEA), a group tasked with advising the president on economic policy. Boushey joined the CEA at the beginning of Biden鈥檚 term in January 2021.
Boushey is co-founder of the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, where she served as president and CEO from 2013-2020 before joining the Biden team. Boushey also previously served as an economist for the Center for American Progress, the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress, the Center for Economic and Policy Research, and the Economic Policy Institute.
Boushey鈥檚 economic work examines how extreme wealth inequality threatens both the market and democracy. She has twice been named one of the top 50 鈥,鈥 by Politico, and her most recent book, , was named one of the best economics books of 2019 by Financial Times.
Boushey received her B.A. from 91猫先生 and her M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from the New School for Social Research.
