Support Provided by CASA

The Center for Academics Support and Advising (CASA) provides a variety of support to students. Advising deans, as well as faculty advisors, are available to address student needs for academic preparation and support and help students stay on track to meet academic goals, divisional requirements, and remain in good academic standing.

What Support CASA Provides

  • Addresses student needs for academic preparation and support. Helps students to stay on track to meet academic goals, divisional requirements, and remain in .
  • Identifies strategies with students to explore academic options, setting goals, self-reflection, organization, and time management.
  • Meets with students identified as making insufficient .
  • Processes all changes of status and advises students on options for聽leave, field study, exchange, transferring to another institution, and withdrawal聽.
  • Refers students to resources such as student's faculty advisor, Writing Center, Office of Accessibility Resources (OARS), Counseling Services, Community Commons, SPARC, etc.
  • Helps students and faculty understand the Divisional System and what the requirements are for passing each Division.
  • Supports students with course selection and registration in conjunction with their faculty advisor.
  • Helps students choose or change advisors.
  • Helps students find a committee chair and members for Division II and Division III.
  • Assists with placement for transfer students in Division I or II and timelines for graduation.

  • Issues certification of good academic standing for other institutions, potential employers, and auto insurance firms.
  • Verifies graduation for students taking the bar exam.
  • Provides copies of materials submitted by a student during the admissions process other than examples of work that are returned by the admissions office.
